MURCIA LIFE EXPECTANCY LOWER THAN NATIONAL AVERAGE
Despite the fact that the Mar Menor is well known for its health giving properties the life expectancy in Murcia is lower than the average for the rest of Spain.
Murcians on average live to 80.5 years old, whereas the national average is 81.8. The difference between life expectancy between men and women is still very marked, 77.4 compared to 83.7 for women.
The areas in Spain where life expectancy is greatest are Navarra and Madrid, at 82.5 years. (taken from the leader newspaper)
